2026 Heart Failure Symposium: Call for Abstracts

This Year’s Theme:
Rethinking Heart Failure: New Tools, Targets, and Treatments

In pursuing the promise of a healthy heart through innovative research, we invite abstract submissions for this year’s Heart Failure Symposium, taking place on Wednesday, October 7^th at Arcadian Court, Toronto, Ontario. Researchers, clinicians, trainees, and patient partners at every career stage are welcome to apply.

Please note that, given this year’s agenda format, we are not accepting workshop proposals.

Abstract Presentations

Accepted abstracts will be selected for an oral, flash science, or poster presentations.

• Oral presentations run ~10 minutes, followed by a session panel Q&A.
• Flash Science are rapid one-minute presentations.
• Posters will be presented during dedicated poster showcase sessions (5 minutes of presentation, followed by 2 minutes of Q&A).

Submission Guidelines

1. All abstracts must be submitted through the Good Grants platform (tedrogersresearch.grantplatform.com) by Monday, July 27^th, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT.
2. Presenting and senior authors of accepted abstracts are expected to register for and attend the Symposium in person.
3. We welcome submissions from individuals outside the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research community.
4. Abstracts must be written in English.
5. Charts, tables, and figures are not permitted.
6. Use standard abbreviations where possible. Define any unusual or specialized abbreviations in parentheses the first time they appear.
7. Registrants may submit multiple abstracts, provided each differs substantially enough to warrant a separate presentation; overlapping submissions may be declined.

Abstracts aligned with this year’s conference theme or the Centre’s strategic goals (outlined below) will be prioritized, though submissions on other topics are also welcome.

Abstract Structure

Please address the following in your abstract submission, in no more than 350 words (including citations, author names, and affiliations):

1. Issue and Objective: Background, objectives, and significance to heart failure
2. Methodology: Research methods used
3. Results: Findings and lessons learned
4. Discussion: Implications, impact, and future goals
